DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/16 August) – Around 150 houses were destroyed when a fire hit Purok 2 and Purok 3 in Isla Verde, Barangay 23-C, Davao City around 11 a.
m. Friday, City Fire Marshall Major Virna Silagan said.
Based on an initial report released by the Bureau of Fire Protection 11 at 2:45 p.
m., Silagan said the fire started on the 2nd floor of the residence of a couple identified only as “Layla” and “King.”
The fire was put under control at 1:37 p.m. or some two hours later, Silagan said.
No one was reported injured in the incident as of 3:57 p.
m.
Investigators placed the estimated cost of damage to properties at P2,625,000.
Silagan said authorities are still investigating the cause of fire.
