DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 28 July) – The city’s Business Bureau is eyeing to increase by 10 percent its issuances of mayor’s permits and collections this year, an official said.
Based on the data released by the agency, new applications from January to June reached 3,429, of which 2,687 have so far been issued with permits while the permit renewals were at 31,942 with 29,095 approved.
As compared to the same period last year, the agency recorded 2,925 new permits issued and 28,218 permit renewals approved.
The first semester capitalization of 2015 was pegged at P207.643 billion, higher as compared to P175.012 billion of the same period of 2014.
The agency also issued a total of 5,378 new permits and 29,146 permit renewals with a combined total capitalization of P203.
612 billion in 2014, still higher as compared to 2013 with P199.
743 billion worth capitalization and 5,021 new permits issued and 28,666 permit renewals approved.
Maribel T. Paguican, assistant division chief of the Business Bureau, said she is confident to surpass last year’s record given that the business climate in the city is booming on the back of a better investors’ confidence and security condition.
Among the industries that have shown a stellar growth are the retail, manufacturing, and real estate.
She is also encouraging the business owners to apply for renewal early so as not to congest the office days leading to the deadline set on January 20, 2016.
