MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews/15 July) – Quakes rocked Surigao del Norte and North Cotabato today, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).[]
Phivolcs said in an advisory issued at 9:36 Monday that a quake occurred 14km northeast of Carmen town in North Cotabato at 9:28am, and registered a magnitude of 5.2.
Phivolcs said the earthquake had a depth of 2 km. The temblor was felt in neighboring Bukidnon province.
It added it was expecting no damage and no aftershocks from the earthquake which was tectonic in origin.
But at 11:51am, another quake occurred 12 km northeast of Carmen with a magnitude of 4.1. Still another one struck at 2:41pm seven kilometers northwest of the town with a magnitude of 3.[]

In Surigao del Norte, Phivolcs said a 4.5-magnitude quake struck Surigao del Norte at 4:54am today.
The agency said the quake’s epicenter was located 119 kilometers southeast of Burgos town in Siargao Island and had a depth of 63 km.[]
