KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/28 December) – A 14-year old girl died while 12 others were wounded when the multi-cab they were riding hit a speeding 10-wheeler truck along the highway in Makilala town in North Cotabato at around 12:30 a.
m. Friday.
Police in Makilala town identified the fatality as Joana Lompingan, 14, of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
Among the dozen wounded was the multi-cab driver identified as Bani Maki.
Maki was among those seriously hurt, sustaining a severe head injury as a result of the vehicular accident, reports said.
Many of the passengers were students from Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
The Makilala police said the multi-cab was heading towards the Makilala-Kidapawan highway when it collided with the truck driven by a certain Hampit.
The truck was headed towards the Makilala-Davao highway.
The victims were rushed at the Makilala Specialist Hospital in Barangay Santo Nino for treatment.
The truck driver voluntarily surrendered to the police for investigation.
