DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/20 July) — The city government last week recalled three job-order employees assigned to the Regional Trial of Court Branch 16 under Judge Emmanuel Carpio.
Mayor Sarah Duterte said the job-order employees in other RTC branches have remained in those offices.
Carpio was the judge who issued the order to demolish shanties in Barangay Tomas Monteverde Sr. which led to the incident where the mayor punched court sheriff Abe Andres for refusing her request for a 2-hour stay of the demolition.
Atty. Jocelyn Salud, clerk of court of Branch 16 identified the employees as Michael Monhe, Agustin Romero and Anisito Pisco. They were ordered transferred to the Probation and Parole Office.
But Pisco has remained as the driver for Judge Carpio and is being paid from his personal money, Salud said.
“Kaya pa rin namin ang trabaho kahit na pull-out ang mga job orders naming (We can still cope with the work even without the job orders),” she added.
There are three job order employees in RTC Branch 13 under Judge Isaac Robillo, and two in Branch 15 under Judge Ridgway Tanjili.
Tanjili confirmed they still have the job order employees paid for by city hall.
He said he did not know why those in Branch 16 were recalled. (MindaNews)
