Neighbor Mila Arsenal told MindaNews she noticed smoke coming from the storehouse owned by Ang Eng Choon around 5:45 and called the fire station for assistance.
The bodega was almost razed to the ground by the time the firemen arrived. The nearby residential house also caught fire but it was put off by the responding firemen.
The fire lasted for almost an hour and reached the 2nd alarm level.
The Bureau of Fire Protection here said the fire destroyed some P600,000 worth of properties inside the bodega.
BFP-Kidapawan has yet to establish the origin of the fire.
