Soldiers raid houses, snatch firearms

KIDAPAWAN CITY  (MindaNews/April 11) – About 15 soldiers, including members of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu), raided at least 10 houses in a remote village here on Wednesday to retrieve the firearms  they claim were stolen by residents.

Sarangani youth launch summer reading program

ALABEL, Sarangani (Sarangani Information Office/12 April) – Sarangani's Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) has launched a month-long reading program among elementary pupils this summer, while instilling the value of volunteerism among "mentors."

National Museum team off to Maitum Tuesday

MANILA (MindaNews/11 April) – A five-person team from the National Museum is going to Maitum, Sarangani next week to do a preliminary study and assessment of the newly-discovered cave in Sitio Sagel, Barangay Pinol, Maitum, Sarangani, which yielded artifacts similar to those of anthropomorphic secondary burial jars recovered in 1991 from a cave a few hundred meters away.
