Sema elected chair of “MNLF”

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/02 March)  — Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin Sema  has been elected chair of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) allegedly by the Central Committee in Pagadian City Tuesday night.

Sema told MindaNews he was elected “by unanimous decision of the more than 2/3 Central Committee members present.”

PGD surprised by NPA charges against him

Land conversion blamed for rice crisis

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/01 April) — Land conversion is the number one culprit of the rice crisis the country is facing right now, City Councilor said in a privilege speech.

“The country is better at producing rice than most Asian countries but the indiscriminate conversion of agricultural lands into other uses has negated this distinct advantage,” Avila noted.
