Social media personality ‘Boy Isog Sarge’ disqualified in Davao City mayoralty race
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has disqualified well-known social media personality Roweno Rosales Cabales, popularly known as “Boy Isog Sarge, ” from running as mayor of Davao City.
Cabales told his supporters last Saturday that the Comelec rejected his certificate of candidacy for not complying with Resolution 11045, or the guidelines for the 2025 midterm national and local elections.
Before becoming a popular social media personality, Cabales is known for his advocacy on organic agriculture.
12 new physicians assigned in Caraga for “Doctors to the Barrios” program
The Department of Health (DOH) said 12 new physicians have joined its “Doctors to the Barrios” program and would be assigned to render health services in the Caraga region.
In a statement, the health department said the doctors are undergoing pre-deployment orientation and would start serving their communities starting January 2.
The agency said the new doctors would be assigned in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur.
Fake cop nabbed inside police camp in GenSan
A fake cop was arrested right inside the main police headquarters at Camp Fermin Lira in General Santos City last Monday.
Colonel Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., city police director, said the suspect, identified only as “Eddie, ” was collared at the camp’s parking area.
Olaivar said the suspect was wearing a police bush coat uniform, which triggered the suspicion of other policemen because it did not match the official attire for the day. (Froilan Gallardo / MindaNews)
