In an advisory released at 6 a.m., the PAGASA said that the shear line is affecting the eastern part of Mindanao and warned local governments of possible flash floods, particularly in affected areas.
The agency said the rain may likely affect the rivers in Bukidnon and its tributaries, particularly upper Cagayan de Oro (CDO), and rivers in Misamis Oriental and its tributaries, particularly eastern CDO, Odiongan, Gingoog, Balatukan, Cabulig, upper/lower Tagoloan, middle/lower Western CDO, Iponan, and Alubijid in Northern Mindanao.
It added that the rain may also affect rivers in Davao Oriental and its tributaries, particularly Cateel, Dapnan, Baganga, Mahan-Ub, Manorigao, Caraga, Casaunan, Quinonoan, Bagwan, Mayo, Bitanayan, Sumlog, Tangmoan, Dacongbonwa, Kabasagan, Manay, Maya, and Sumlao/Cuabo; rivers in Davao de Oro and its tributaries, particularly Matiao and Hijo; rivers in Davao del Norte and its tributaries particularly Tagum-Libuganon, Tuganay, and Saug; and rivers in Davao del Sur and its tributaries, particularly Davao, Lasang, Bunawan, Matina, Talomo, Lipadas, Tagulaya Sibulan, Digos, and Padada Mainit.
Water courses that may likely be affected in Caraga include rivers in Surigao del Sur and its tributaries, including Cantilan, Carac-an, Tandag, Tago, Hubo-Oteiza, Hinatuan, and Bislig; rivers in Agusan del Norte and its tributaries, particularly Lake-Mainit-Tubay, Asiga, Agusan, Linugos and Cabadbaran; and rivers in Agusan del Sur and its tributaries, including Ojot, Wawa, Libang, Maosam, Kasilan, Gibong, Adgaoan, Simulao, Kayonan, and Andanan.
The agency cautioned residents living near the mountain slopes and in the low-lying areas of these river systems and advised the local disaster risk reduction and management councils to be alert for possible flash floods.
