The Department of Health (DOH) junked a claim circulating on social media that individuals vaccinated against COVID-19 cannot anymore donate their blood.

“Anyone who has been vaccinated with any COVID-19 vaccine may donate blood anytime if asymptomatic or 14 days after resolution of symptoms / recovery from COVID-19,” the DOH said.

Here is the advisory issued by the DOH on Thursday, January 27:

Blood collector Red Cross also stated that individuals who received a COVID-19 vaccine is eligible to give blood, platelets and plasma.

“Yes, you can donate blood after getting a COVID-19 vaccine, as long as you are symptom-free and feeling well at the time of the donation,” the international non-profit stressed.
