DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 29 January) – Mindanao’s 27 provinces are all under Alert Level 3 as COVID-19 cases surged in the five provinces previously under Alert Level 2.
Camiguin, Davao Occidental, Dinagat Islands, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi were placed under Alert Level 2 from January 16 to 31 and under Alert Level 3 from January 28 to February 15 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases’ Resolution No. 159 issued Thursday. Palawan in Region 4-B, was also placed under the same alert level.
Twenty-two other provinces in Mindanao are still under Alert Level 3 until January 31, from January 14 or January 16. There is no announcement yet if Alert Level 3 will be extended in these areas beyond January 31.
Earlier this week, Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista issued an executive order imposing stricter border measures, including ‘no vax, no entry’ into the province. (Yas D. Ocampo/MindaNews)
