DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/13 May) – President Rodrigo R. Duterte arrived at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School to cast his vote on an hour and 30 minutes before voting closed on Monday.
Accompanied by his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña, the President arrived at 4:32 p.m. and entered the classroom that served as his precinct two minutes later.
Duterte was assigned to Precinct 1245 A and Cluster 361.
He went through the voters’ registration verification process as other voters did before he was given the ballot. There were a few voters inside the classroom when Duterte started shading his ballot.
He also brought with him a paper apparently containing the list of his chosen candidates.
He would occasionally stop to call Avanceña to assist him.
The President took some 20 minutes to complete his ballot and left the classroom at 4:53 p.m.
The school took out the “historical” chair that was used by the then candidate Duterte in the 2016 Presidential elections from its glass case for the President to sign after he cast his vote. (Antonio L. Colina IV/MindaNews)
