ZAMBOANGA CITY (MindaNews/13 December) – Police arrested a suspected leader of a kidnap-for-ransom-group Thursday in Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Senior Supt. Robert Roy Bahian, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the suspect as Hassim Calon also known as Ging Calon and Hussein Ali, a sub-leader of the “dreaded” Barahami Ali kidnap group.

Bahian said Calon was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 31 Judge Josefino Bael of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay. (MindaNews)
