COTABATO CITY (MindaNews/23 Nov) — At least two persons were killed and 25 others were injured when a homemade bomb exploded at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in M’lang, North Cotabato.
Cynthia Ortega, chief of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of North Cotabato said the bomb exploded in front of a restaurant at the plaza in M’lang.
M’lang is celebrating its 6th Kawayan festival until December 5.
The PDRRMC identified the slain victims as John Camiring and Jade Villarin.
The PDRRMC also said 24 of the 25 wounded victims have been identified as John Ramirez, Lorelyn Catinoy, Apolinario Igot, Nelson Baliguat, Francis Rio, Ian Cris Quintinita, Marjon Billones, Kenneth Garcia, Joemar Bases, Ruth Billones, Amar Patad, Beverly Brazilinio;
Mike Laba, Solimar Baligasa, Rex Javier, Ruel Sales, Ali Aguirre, Aldrin Natal, Erickson Brazilinio, Aldrin Cadungon, Ericka Brazilinio, Erica Mae Jacilenyo, Thelma Ceballos, and Ryan Ignacio.
Last November 16, a bomb also exploded in Kabacan town, killing a young student and injuring 16 others.
North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Mendoza condemned the bombing and assured the provincial government’s support for the victims.
Mendoza offered a PhP 100,000 reward for anyone who could provide vital information behind the blast in Kabacan. (MindaNews)
