ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanews/28 May) – A barangay official was killed while another was wounded in two separate shooting incidents in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay, a police official disclosed Monday.
Killed was Enicito Lebron, 33, and wounded was Mobinn Tamanan, 53, according to Police Regional Office-9 spokesperson Chief Insp.

Lebron was a barangay councilman in Kalilangan, San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur while Tamanan is the barangay chairman of Tigpalay, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Huesca said.
Lebron was shot to death around 9 p.m. Saturday while he and some of his relatives were asleep after watching television at the terrace of his father’s home in Kalilangan, San Pablo, Huesca said.
In the case of Tamanan, the barangay official was walking on his way home when shot and wounded by gunmen aboard a motorcycle around 8 p.m. Sunday in Tigpalay, Tungawan, the police official said.
Both cases are being thoroughly investigated to establish the motives as well as the identities of the suspects, he said.
He added politics is being eyed as a possible motive. (MindaNews)
