Damage to property was estimated at P886,980 based on the data from the office of the Rep. Vicente Belmonte.
Rendered homeless were the families mostly from Purok La Purisima in Barangay Tubod.
Ladie Lluch, city administrator, said that worst hit communities are La Purisima, Mangga and Manwang all in Barangay Tubod.
Other affected barangays are Mahayahay, Upper Hinaplanon, Abuno, Tambacan, and some low areas in Tibanga, Palao, Del Carmen, Ubaldo Laya, Dalipuga, San Miguel, Barinaut, Hinaplanon, Luinab, and Tipanoy.
Mayor Lawrence Lluch Cruz said he has instructed the social welfare office to account for all the victims and to provide food to the evacuees.
Evacuees who stayed in barangay halls, elementary schools and gymnasium have returned home.
Cruz also promised to help assist the families whose homes were swept away by the floods and has asked the housing settlement office to look for a place where they could resettle.
“It was good that we started the dredging the riverbeds last year because it helped control the flood,” he said. (Violeta M. Gloria/MindaNews)
