Games proper will start following the short opening ceremonies set at 4 p.m.
 
A total of 16 teams will dispute for top honors and some P50,000 cash prizes in the tournament, which is expected to attract teams from nearby cities and provinces.
 
With the entry of powerhouse teams from Tagum City, Panabo City and Digos City, Jecle Rosales, member of the working committee, sees a stiff competition for all the participating teams.
 
"This is a big tournament and surely, this would be a tough battle for all the teams," said Rosales during the Davao Sportswriters Association Forum.
 
The champion team will bring home P15,000 while the next three finishers will pocket P8,000, P5,000 and P3,000, respectively.
 
The fifth to eighth placers will also get P1,000 each, according to Rosales.
