This year’s edition of the annual sports extravaganza for this city’s numerous elderly will be held at the Rizal Memorial College (RMC).
Several organizations have started meeting with the steering committee chaired by City Councilor Leo Avila III to prepare this early and ensure the success of the three-day event.
“RMC’s Leo Magno approved the request to be the venue of this year's competition for senior citizens and we are very thankful for their help," Avila told the members of the organizing committee.
Aside from the ball games, according to Avila, ballroom dancing competition and quiz bowl contest will also be highlighted.
Avila said sports competitions are also being designed for the senior citizens to keep them alert and in shape even in their retirement years.
"They are even more enthusiastic than the young ones," noted Avila. Last year, more than 3, 000 senior citizens took part in various sports events. (Rico Biliran / MindaNews)
