Bantamweight Federico Catubay will put his PBF jr bantamweight crown on the block against challenger Eric Barcelona over ten rounds while Fabio Marfa and Arman de la Cruz tangles in another ten rounder for the PBF jr. flyweight crown.
The two PBF championship bouts headline the 64-round boxing card promoted by Leonil B. Lazarito at the Gusa Sports Complex in this city. The card also includes an 8 rounder, two six rounders and 6 four rounders.
Also featured is a four round preliminary bout between a one-legged Japanese boxer—Naozumi Tuchiyama against Harry Cahapon. It will be the second professional fight for the Japanese boxer who wears one prosthetic leg as a professional boxer.
Tuchiyama, a welterweight won on points in his professional debut last year, also over four rounds. He lost his right leg from the knee down to an illness in his childhood.
The Japanese has been allowed to fight by the Games and Amusements Board under certain conditions. He has been issued a boxing license on a per fight basis according to local GAB head Carlos Almirante.
Fighting in the supporting eight rounder are featherweights Jake Verano and Joel de la Cruz while the two pairs of six rounders will have Eusebio Baluarte fighting Noli Fabroa at 142 lbs and Edwin Ramuga against Ronald Balangia at 128 lbs.
