The country's top chess players led by super Grandmaster Mark Paragua and Grandmaster Eugene Torre have confirmed their participation in the four-day chess festival sponsored by the friends of Surigao Del Sur Representative and Newly-elected NCFP President Prospero Pichay.
The event is sanctioned by FIDE and NCFP.

NCFP is a member of the World Chess Federations but its chess players are not in the FIDE ratings chart, except those who are participating in International competitions. A player needs to join a FIDE rated or sanctioned tournament in order to obtain a rating.
