A devotee gets her face painted early Wednesday morning (20 September 2023) for the revelry as Iligan City starts celebrations for the upcoming feast of St. Michael the Archangel on the 29th. Every September 20 Iliganons observe the “Pagpakanaug” rites, where the statue of the patron saint is brought down from its pedestal and carried to a procession around town.
