The Iligan City Esplanade photographed with a drone Saturday evening (15 July 2023). This structure, now around 540 meters long, sits along the bank of the Mandulog River, for Iliganons to relax and exercise, and to serve as protection against floods for communities in the area. During Typhoon “Sendong” in December 2011, Orchids Homes, the subdivision beside the esplanade, was among the most damaged communities in Iligan. Photo contributed by HERMAN P. SALARDA JR.
