Roel Dahonog, acting regional chief of the Protected Areas and Wildlife Division of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-10 and an assistant release a Philippine Hawk Eagle at the slopes of Malasag Hill in Barangay Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City on May 26, 2014. The eagle was recovered from a collector last May 14.

Suffering from an injured beak and head, the eagle was given up for dead.
