ABANDONED. This old  provincial capitol in Simuay, Sultan Kudarat town along the Davao-Cotabato highway has been abandoned since then governor Andal Ampatuan, Sr., moved the capitol to his hometown in Shariff Aguak town along the Cotabato-General Santos highway, citing security concerns.

That new capitol has also been abandoned by the new leadership under Governor Esmael Mangudadatu, citing security reasons.
