TURNING POINT: Impatience

NAAWAN, Misamis Oriental (MindaNews / 9 December) – Impatience is a vice.

Impatience is Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sara Duterte wants exceedingly the Presidency of the Republic. Her impatience is uncontrollable, which drives her to concoct a plan that would lead to a seditious act of killing the incumbent president, his wife, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Sara’s humongous sense of impunity makes her say or do something without considering its consequences. She is mimicking her father, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who, while the President of the Republic said anything he wished and did away with it. Although she is a heartbeat away from the presidency, she is not yet the President; doing what her father used to do is a disaster: she finds herself at the precipice of her political downfall.

The impeachment against her is now in motion. Having made enemies in the House for snubbing the hearing on the budget of the Office of the Vice President and the investigation on the shameless, scandalous expenditure of her confidential fund, it is beyond doubt that she would be impeached.

The Senate, which is to act as a juror to try her impeachment, is packed with Duterte allies, 9 of which are for reelection. Considering, however, the gravity of her offense, it is unlikely that they would risk their chance in the poll by aligning with her.

It is becoming a lonely road for one with an insatiable greed.
