Since 2002, the Minfruit Council has conducted more than 100 seminars on banana and other fruit crops in major fruit-growing areas in Mindanao, benefiting more than 8,000 small farmers. The Minfruit Council is being assisted by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program and the Department of Agriculture (DA), to support the development of the local fruit industry through technology dissemination, market linkage and the strengthening of grower associations.
