DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 5 January) — Amid rumors that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant against Senator Ronald dela Rosa, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao said there is no order from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to monitor his movements in the Davao Region.

In an interview on the sidelines of Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City on Monday, Maj. Catherine dela Rey, spokesperson of PRO-Davao, said security forces are thus not monitoring Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa has been absent from sessions in the Senate since November 2025, following the announcement of Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla that a warrant for his arrest had been issued in connection with his participation in the bloody war on drugs during the administration of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte.
Dela Rosa served as director of the Davao City Police Office from January 2012 to October 2013 and chief of the Philippine National Police from July 2016 to April 2018.
“Many rumors are circulating that warrants of arrest have already been issued. But on our end, it’s negative. We have no movement in relation to Senator Dela Rosa. He is not being pursued. Negative,” she said in Cebuano.
She added that they will mobilize their forces if ordered by the central office of the PNP to locate the senator.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, in an interview on GMA’s “Balitanghali” on December 11, 2025, said Dela Rosa’s whereabouts are being monitored and that he has been moving between his “friends’ houses.”
Former President Duterte, arrested on March 12, 2025 and detained at The Hague, Netherlands, has been charged with crimes against humanity of murder and attempted murder, committed between November 2011 and March 2019. (Antonio L. Colina IV / MindaNews)
