CAGAYAN DE ORO(MindaNews/ 23 January)– Suspected Dawlah Islamiyah terrorists killed four soldiers and wounded another who were doing civil military work in Munai town, Lanao del Norte Friday morning.

An official of the Army’s 2nd Mechanized Brigade who asked not to be named said the soldiers left their base to buy supplies when suspected Dawlah Islamiyah terrorists ambushed their vehicle while crossing a river in the remote village of Purok 1, Barangay Liningding in Munai town.
He said the ambush took place around 10:30 AM Friday while the soldiers on board a Toyota Avanza were crossing a creek in Purok 1.
The Army official said the soldiers were members of Task Force Tabang (Help) who were doing civilian-military work in the remote villages of Munai town are reportedly heavily influenced by the militants.
He said Army soldiers from the 44th Infantry Battalions and policemen are conducting pursuit operations against the suspected terrorists. (Froilan Gallardo/ MindaNews)
