
CDO prepares traffic plan for 2026 ‘Traslacion’
Church and city officials in Cagayan de Oro are preparing the traffic and security plans for the annual Black Nazarene procession that is expected to draw thousands of devotees in Cagayan de Oro.
Nonito Oclarit, Cagayan de Oro Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) chief said a routing plan will prevent traffic problems during the religious procession on January 9, 2026.

3 foreigners nabbed in Siargao for shabu
A 30-year-old Canadian and two Hungarian nationals were arrested after police recovered eight kilos of shabu worth P54.4 million allegedly coming from their yacht that ran aground off Siargao island on Christmas Eve.
Colonel Warren Dablo, Surigao del Norte police director said residents told police that the drug scattered in the sea after the foreigners burned their yacht.

12 new early warning devices installed in Lanao del Sur
The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Ministry of Science And Technology (BARMM-MOST) has activated 12 early warning devices to enhance disaster monitoring and preparedness in Lanao del Sur.
MOST Science Research Specialist Noralyn Impa said these devices that give real-time updates on weather conditions and water levels are connected to the website of PhilSensors of the Department of Science and Technology.
This brings to 29 the number of such devices across 25 municipalities in the province.
