Police said they have deployed additional forces in the different police outposts and inside bus terminals.
Supt. Renato Hiso, officer-in-charge of the provincial police force, said he has ordered the 1201st Police Provincial Mobile Group (PPMG) to conduct "Operation Kapkap Bakal" inside bus terminals and other public places to check for hidden firearms.
Last Sunday, four hold-uppers posing as passengers boarded an Eric air-conditioned at the public terminal of Pikit in North Cotabato. Brandishing their caliber .45 pistols, they declared a holdup upon reaching the boundary of Pikit and Aleosan town.
They robbed the driver, bus conductor, and passengers of their cash, jewelries, and other belongings amounting to more than P25,000, reports said.
They left towards the northern portion of Barangay Dalengaoen in Pikit and used as getaway vehicles two motorcycles parked along the road.
Hiso claimed they already identified the group behind the latest robbery but said they could not name them as investigation is still being conducted. (Malu Cadelina Manar / MindaNews)
