Led by Vice Gov. Manny Piñol, the task force provided the motorcycles (Honda XRM 125) and cell phones to operatives in areas with high incidence of drug-related cases — Kidapawan City and towns of Kabacan, Pikit, Midsayap and Tulunan.
Piñol, who was governor for three terms, said the province’s police needs mobility and fast communication to help arrest the drug problem.
He said the problem of lack of vehicles and communication equipment was noted during the province-wide anti-drug summit held here last January.
The turnover was witnessed by Gov. Jesus Sacdalan, who said the provincial government “is serious in its campaign against drugs.”
“With this logistical support that we have provided, we expect the recipient local government and police units to double their efforts in minimizing, if not totally eradicating, the evil of illegal drugs in their areas,” he stressed. ( MindaNews)
