Believed to be a victim of summary execution, the victim was already in advanced state of decomposition.
A certain Edwin Manampit, farm worker from Magpet, North Cotabato, discovered the body around 10:45 a.m., on Wednesday in a farm lot owned by Bonifacio Madrid, a former village chairman in Barangay Sudapin here,.
Meanwhile, relatives of two missing persons in North Cotabato remained clueless as to their whereabouts, after they found out that the dead man found in the farm lot was not those of the missing persons.
Mariam Hassan Husain, mother of 27-year old Ibrahim and her family visited on Wednesday night the Villa Jusa Funeral Homes where the unidentified cadaver was temporarily placed, and were relieved to see a different person.
“Thanks God, it’s not him,” said Mariam.
Mariam told authorities she has no idea where his son went after he left their house on May 18 to fetch his elder sister in Cotabato airport. Ibrahim’s elder sister just arrived after years of working in Dubai.
Mariam’s nephew, Guiamaludin Hassan Adam, was also missing since May 19. She was told that both Guiamaludin and his wife were abducted by still unidentified persons in Midsayap on that day, prompted by the release of Babai Hassan few hours later from her supposed abductors.
But Mariam is still scared. “I’m praying hard nothing bad has happened to him,” she said.
Ibrahim is related to the Hassan brothers who were tagged as behind the series of bombings in central Mindanao .
