The truck is owned by Alberto Mapuri Soriano of Upland Ventures Corporation operating in Makilala.
The suspects also fired their 9mm caliber pistols upon leaving the area.
Makilala policemen recovered several live ammunition and empty shells at the crime scene.
Senior Supt. Casimero Medes, PNP-12 information officer, said that the group responsible for the attack has been extorting money from big companies and would burn the properties of those who refuse to pay.
“We have to isolate this organization, to choke off their sources of financial support, and to prevent their movement across the region,” Medes said.
The police official also appealed to bus owners, businessmen, and even politicians not to give in the demands of the group.
The NPA has not issued a statement admitting or denying it was responsible for the burning of the truck and other equipment here. (Williamor A. Magbanua/MindaNews)
