Lt. Col. Bartolome Bacarro, Armed Forces of the Philippines public information officer, said the improvised explosive device was placed inside a plastic bag and left in a tricycle parked in front of the Peacekeeper’s Inn.
Bacarro said the blast occurred at around 7 p.m. and wounded two persons who were standing nearby.
Peacekeepers Inn is located just a few meters from the gates of the heavily guarded Camp Asturias, headquarters of the Sulu Philippine National Police.
