Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, this year's Araw ng Dabaw Executive Committee chair, said the parade, usually held mornings, will start at 3 o'clock in the afternoon as he does not want people’s attention divided between the parade and Pacquiao.
Duterte added that he does not want the people's attention to be divided between the Pacquiao fight and the parade.
He also said that Pacquiao has already become a symbol of the country and he does not want Dabawenyos to miss the fight of the “Pambansang Kamao.”
But Duterte said he will set up a big screen at Rizal Park where people can watch the Pqcquiao-Marquez fight but he is urging everyone to watch the parade after.
The March 15 bout in Las Vegas (March 16 morning here) will be the second time Pacquiao will face Marquez. Their first fight ended in a draw. (MindaNews)
