DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/27 Feb) — When words are not enough to tell a story, music and melody come into play to bring life to various human experiences—the inspiration of the songs encased in the first ever studio album published and released by music training center Muzic’s Kool.
Kanta-Kwento, an album of 12 original tracks by promising young Davao artists, puts different sentiments and feelings of into mellifluous songs that are relevant and relatable.
The album verbalizes thoughts that never make it to daily, casual face-to-face conversations with the people around us—whether a friend, a lover, or someone in between.
The album, composed by Jeremy Sarmiento with music skillfully arranged by Jonathan Ferrero and Paolo Sisi, speaks to the heart of the listener with a heartfelt advice: life goes on and we need to keep moving on while learning from experience.
Love, joy, longing, brokenness, frustration, desperation, faith, hope, and renewal are just some of the themes explored by the songs in Kanta-Kwento.

Jeremy said that these experiences are carefully reflected into songs with hopes that the listener might find him/herself in any of the numbers in the album.
Young artists like Jizelle Dea Formilleza, Jozelle Tacsanan, Archie Udaundo, Shaira Rica Opsimar, Juliet Bahala, Julia Mica Serad, Rigel Micolob, Joemark Tumala, Darwin Divino, JR Estudillo, Christian Bahaya, Kenneth Tadong, Cassie Japos, Rayjan Pimentel, Yoyong Lanzo, Robert Subibe, Janice Uy, Raffy Donato, Paolo Sisi, Edwin Alconera, and Josel Jimenez all breathe a refreshing air into the usual OPM that music fans are accustomed to.
Since it opened in October 2013, Muzic’s Kool grew to become a significant establishment that celebrates music, music education, and talents in Davao’s music industry. Having produced this first studio album celebrates their milestone and puts them on a position where they can let the unheard voices reach the public and the city’s thriving art community.
Jeremy, who also heads Muzic’s Kool and is himself a music powerhouse, said that producing Kanta-Kwento is their way of recognizing the young talents in Davao and giving them a platform to showcase their skills and celebrate their artistry.
Kanta-Kwento, which was cleverly put together in just three months, brings OPM closer to the heart of the listener through melodic storytelling, narration, and poetry.
The songs contained in the physical album features brief narrations of each song. The same songs, which were recorded and mastered in the Muzic’s Kool recording studio, are also available for download in iTunes.
