KIDAPAWAN CITY (MindaNews/08 July) – Joint operatives of the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police in Sultan Kudarat arrested on Wednesday two of the “most wanted” persons in Region 12 (Southwestern Mindanao). He was arrested by T/Sgt. Jaime dela Cruz of the 75th IB assigned at an Army detachment in Lutayan town in Sultan Kudarat, and the Lutayan Police under its chief, SPO4 Noel T Bautista. Operatives also collared on Wednesday Nasser Mayangkang Mamaluba in Barangay Pimbalayan in Lambayong. Mamaluba was arrested by operatives led by 1Lt. Frederick Marquz of the 75th IB and elements of the 1207th Police Provincial Mobile Group and Regional Mobile Group in Region 12 under Insp. Junny Buenacosa. The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Melanio Guerrero of the 12th Judicial Region Branch 20 in Tacurong City. He is facing murder charges under criminal case no. 2748. The suspects were turned over to the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Jail in Isulan. Lt. Col. Paul Atal, commander of the 75th Infantry Battalion, said the arrests were results of Manhunt Bravo, a campaign against wanted persons being undertaken by both the Army and police in Sultan Kudarat. “We are closely working with the Police Provincial Office of Sultan Kudarat under Supt. Teng Mamalinta Tocao to exert extra efforts to apprehend lawless elements in the area in order to preserve peace and harmony in the province of Sultan Kudarat,” said Lt. Col. Atal. Their monitoring and other surveillance operations against most wanted persons had been intensified “to ensure that justice prevails and that peace reigns in the region”, he added.
