CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (MindaNews/28 June) -- At least five persons were reportedly killed in a tribal war Wednesday in a remote village 90 kilometers from the town center of Talakag, Bukidnon. Talakag Mayor Amado Noble said in a phone interview that the clash erupted in Barangay Lirungan, involving the Luminda, Lumino, Libugan, and Ubaan families. He family the feud in the area has been around for the last 20 years. Noble said the local government has been initiating a "tampuda," the Lumad way of settling clan wars through a series of dialogues and negotiations. Noble said the Philippine National Police in Region 10 has already dispatched a team to neutralize the clan war and prevent it from spreading into adjacent communities. |
